To prepare for a Director of Nursing or Chief Nurse NHS interview, expect a panel led by the chair and chief executive, often with non-executive directors and a stakeholder or staff panel, testing how you would hold board-level accountability for nursing, midwifery and AHP standards, safe staffing, patient safety under PSIRF, infection prevention as DIPC, safeguarding and patient experience. Prepare short spoken examples that show how you challenge, how you tell assurance from reassurance, and how you would act on a serious failing in care, and read the trust's CQC reports, board papers, quality account and staff survey before you go in.
